In the super, super, long run (which for a 7-year old game, there isn't going to be much of that left), making your PvE characters and bringing them to PvP is the much, much better choice.

Because, you're limited to 19 PvP items in your inventory at any time, you'll need a PvE character to farm additional items for you to complete your respective weapon sets (it's actually much faster to have all the weapons/armor sets on-hand at all times, much easier than having to reload templates all the time), and even if you accomplish that, if you want all the armor sets on your PvP character you'll need to have access to PvE (19 items is not near enough a limit for getting the armor you'll require for different builds).

All that being said, only a handful of the high-end PvP'ers I know do this.

You're partially correct... but, I do know of a few people going through certain *purposely unmentioned* methods to never, ever have to touch PvE and still accomplish this.

Again with a question...I wanna play an Assassin...and I thought great let's start using it...but then I got this idea. Why not get Imperial Armor? AR is 70 and I heard it's really really good. So...I was like GREAT let's start farming with a prophecies toon...So I started the game with a N/E. Now I have 5 Platinum, 200 Tanned Hide Square and 32 Steel Ingot...I wanna start in force so I just brushed off the fact that I need runes and insignias for my build. I'm sure I'll get them later.

Can someone tell me if it's a good idea to go craft my equipment with my N/E and then move it to my Assassin or will the equipment be locked or something like that? Should I get that equipment on my Assassin? which is just lvl 2 btw and I heard I need to get to lvl 10 to get to Kaineng. But I really wanna start with that armor...soo tell me what u think get in on N/E and move it through Xunlai Chest or....lvl up my assassin and eventually get it?

Just a note, 70AL is max for any Assassin armor. Imperial isn't inherently better than exotic, canthan, shing jea, etc. All armor from Kaineng Center onwards is max, so it's a matter of whichever skin you like the most.

Armor is customised to whichever character obtains it. If you want some armor for your Assassin you need to get it on your Assassin. By all means transfer crafting mats and cash from other chars, but your Assassin will need to get to the crafter themselves. Also, don't rush forward to the mainland just for armor. You're much better off taking your time, doing quests, picking up skills, and leveling up to ~17-20 before setting off. Just upgrade your armor once or twice along the way (whenever you feel the need to) and you'll be fine (think about it - it would be pretty dumb if you were expected to rush ahead to level 20 areas, grab some armor, then jump back into the low level stuff). Shing Jea Island (like all level 1-19 areas) is essentially a training area so you don't need to worry about optimising yet.

thank you for the answers helped me a lot. But again I have a question...from the mainland I can always hop back to shing jea and the other way right?

Correct. The only tutorial area you're not allowed to go back to is Prophecies' Pre-Searing. Factions and Nightfall newbie zones are open to anyone (even non-natives).

An extra tidbit: the only reason you lose access to pre-searing is because there is a time jump (two years) between then and 'now'. You'll find that GW has very few permanent decisions/points of no return. Other than leaving pre-searing and choosing your primary profession, everything else can be changed. Some of these (like changing your appearance) cost real life cash but that's not the case for most things.

No you can not unless you own them. Other campaigns allow skills, heroes, armors, weapons.

When you only have prophecy's unlocked on your account you only have access to armor, skills, weapons and upgrades from prophecy's. You can buy weapons and upgradse from other campaigns and use them when you buy them/get them from other players. You can also access the battle islands (wich are the central place for pvp-ers from all campaigns), but you cannot participate in PvP-formats from factions. You can't unlock skills and items that belong to other campaigns.

for example. On some rare occasions it is possible to get a skill from another campaign without owning that campaign. Although, if equiped you can see it, it will have a lock over the icon and you can't use the skill. This is the same with hero's. It is possible to have e.g. the EotN hero Xandra (ritualist) without owning factions (though you need to own EotN off course to get her). She can use the skills she already have, but you can't get her new skills (and you can't force her to use a certain skill liuke you can do with other heroes).

As has been pointed out, you can't do this with Armor; but so long as you don't customize weapons sure; I've been leveling up a N/M in Factions for a few days now; when I want a little break from Claudia's Ascension Quests; but when I'm running Claudia I keep her in mind; Salvaging runes, Weapon upgrades, Weapons - She's got a really nice 7Death Magic Cesta(?) that way; so sure you definitely want to think of your toons as a team, and use them to farm goodies for each other. Actually I'm pretty sure she got Claudia a Golden Short Bow that way, in Really Lucky Drop. BB.

I started the Factions campaign yesterday and played a bit. THis morning I was leveling my A/Mo in the factions capmaign and I stumbeled over a quest that gave Atrribute points. I mean ...WOW....ATRRIBUTE POINTS...and 15 of em' none the less. You can imagine my joy when I took it and finished it. The quest was right after the 1st mission from factions. It was called treasure or something and it turns out the guard that gave me the mission had a love named precious trasure or something and you had to rescue her. Anyways what I want to ask is if there are more quests like that. I mean I really want more atrribute points.

There are two attribute quests in each campaign (both giving 15 points), but you can only do the ones of the campaign you started in. So a Factions character can only do both Factions quests, a Nightfall character can only do both Nightfall quests, etc.

Is there any difference between Imperial Armor and Elite Imperial Armor or is it just the looks?

You can add the elite armour sets to HoM.
Gameplay-wise, however, there's completely no difference as long as it's crafted and has max armour rating.

Norn (and Asura, Vanguard and Dwarven) skills are PvE only skills that you can get in the Eye of the North Expansion. There are quite some powerful and useful skills among them.

You can obtain a good number of PvE-only skills from the various races in Eye of the North by doing different quests. You get the Norn ones from Norn NPCs. The skills' effectiveness is determined by your rank in the associated reputation.

(Whoops, ninja'd.)

No there's no mail system or anything like that. People leave igns so they can contact each other when online and meet for the trade.
